About St Petersburg Fl

St Petersburg Fl?
I am traveling to St Petersburg Fl in July. (will be spending some time in Tampa as well). Can anyone recommend any hotels on the beach or things to do while I am there. i am going to visit a friend and have no clue whats there. Thanks!

St Pete beach, at this time going through alot of construction. Ripping down hotels to build condos. This is happening also Clearwater Beach, where I live. So if it does not bother you the noise, all day, try it. But before you book, ask, see what they say. There are plenty things to do, Salvador Dali museum, Mosi'Imax' the Bodies exhibit is there. Tampa has Ybor City, Busch Gardens, enjoy youself.

you can go to the races if you like races thats what we do sometimes. Busch gardens, disney, and universal studios are great places to visit or if you like to site see drive around st pete but be careful some areas are dangerous

Looking for a book set in early 1900 Russia in St Petersburg?
A young man commits suicide. His step dad travels from country side Russia to investigate his death. In St Petersburg he lives in a widow's apartment with whom he gets involved. He discovers his son was involved with some polical organisation and might have been murdered.

Coetzee From Library Journal "St. Petersburg is poised for revolution as Fyodor Dostoevsky returns from Germany to claim his deceased stepson's papers. Although the police rule Pavel's death a suicide, the famous writer is drawn into a group of shady characters, including the anarchist Nechaev, who is possibly Pavel's killer. Plagued by seizures and tormented by a torrid affair with his stepson's landlady, Dostoevsky struggles to ascertain once and for all a writer's responsibility to his family and society. The strength of South African writer Coetzee (Age of Iron, LJ 8/90) lies in his ability to draw characters and scenes evoking the dark mood of the master's novels. Unfortunately, this story of action and ideas lapses into monotonous debate in its final chapters, but there is much to enjoy despite the flagging plot. Recommended for literary collections

About Can tourists travel within Russia on a Private Visa

Can tourists travel within Russia on a Private Visa?
I have my Letter of Invitation (which lists only Moscow). I'm going to get my Visa tomorrow. Can I leave Moscow and travel to St. Petersburg?

sure. visa is for country, not for city. but you will need to register in St.Pete (as well as in Moscow) - if you stay in hotel, they'll do it for you.

The correct answer is...yes, but be sure to check in at your hotel for a stamp in St. Petersburg. Also on your visa application you can list which cities you intend to visit during your trip. Add a few extras, you might want to tour (also add St. Petersburg to the list) this is for the official visa not to be confused with the invitation letter. Have a great trip.

Of course you can, Moscow and St. Petersburg are all in Russia! When you get a visa, you can travel to all the cities within this country territory.

Caution: If it sounds too good to be true .. it probably is. Beware of scams ... do LOTS of research before even considering this kind of thing... and no .. I have not heard of any of these nor could I find out any info on any of them

Cheap places to stay in St Petersburg Russia?
Hello, I plan to travel to St Petersburg and I am on a very tight budget and I cannot afford a hotel. My plan was to stay with two friends that are girls that I know in St Petersburg but that plan fell thru.. :( Does anyone know of any VERY cheap hostels in the city? Or would anyone (preferably female) be willing to share their home with me for 10 days? I promise I won't take up much space and I won't even be in the house very often. I am traveling to Russia to meet my biological grandmother, mother and sister, but they have no room for me to stay with them. Thanks

There are plenty of hostels in Petersburg. I've been there twice but I can't remember exactly where I stayed. I just turn up with my guide book and find one that sounds OK. Or you can research it on the internet before you go. Don't forget it might be busier in June because of the white nights but I went there for white nights in 2006 and didn't have a problem finding a hostel
